English for employment
The English for Employment Class is a free English class provided by the Prince Albert Multicultural Council and funded by the Government of Saskatchewan.
Our English for Employment Class is a language training program for new immigrants.
The program will:

assist immigrants with limited English skills in gaining the language proficiency required for finding entry-level occupations and maintaining employment in Canada
The class is available to Newcomers with a minimum skill level of 4 or higher on their Canadian Language Benchmarks (or equivalent).
The English for Employment Class is held from 8:30am-12:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday and grants flexibility to English students also looking to work.
The English for Employment Class is:
- A customized ESL Class for Newcomers
- Teaches about Getting a Job and Saskatchewan's Workplace Norms, Safety and Culture
- Teaches about Labour Standards, WHIMIS, Occupational Health & Safety
- and MORE ....
Eligibility requirements to take part in our English for Employment program include:

Must be 18 years of age or older

Levels 4 to 8 according to the CLBPT or other CLB-cross referenced assessment tests

Legally entitled to work in Canada (hold a valid Social Insurance Number and/or a valid work permit)

The applicant MUST be one of the following:

A temporary resident with a valid work permit who is authorized to remain in Canada for at least two months

A Naturalized Canadian citizen

A Permanent Resident who is not eligible for, or cannot access, federal English Classes

All eligible applicants must also:

Complete registration and language level assessment testing as necessary

Maintain satisfactory attendance

Participate/Involvement in some of PAMC's events and community activities is expected

Participate in some of Saskatchewan's workplace safety and culture seminar/s;
ex. Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board, etc.
